Cheviot Hills, a neighborhood on the west side of Los Angeles, is adjacent to both 20th Century Fox and Century City Studios. This beautiful area, on the edge of the Los Angeles Basin, was not developed until the 1930s. It is named after the similarly rolling Cheviot Hills which lie on the border between Scotland and England. Most of the older homes were built in the 1940s and 1950s, with arguably better piping than their European namesake.
The affluent residents of Cheviot Hills have had the same plumbing needs since those days, but have also enjoyed the benefit of Newton Plumbing’s fine service since 1946, the same year that the Cheviot Hills Military Academy was founded at the former Pacific Military Academy. The latter was used as a barracks during World War II for the Army’s First Motion Picture Unit (future President Ronald Reagan was famously filmed there). During this time, the soldiers were coming home from the War and many were settling in the West Los Angeles area.
Though these institutions are long fallen to progress, many other landmarks now stand in the area. Rancho Park, the Hillcrest Country Club and the Beverly Hills Country Club lie nearby. Century City’s office towers and two malls are close by (the Westside Pavillion and Century City Mall). The Rosa Parks Freeway, which offers quick access to Downtown Los Angeles, grew up in the 1960s between Santa Monica and all points east. And, of course, we have grown up, just across the freeway from Cheviot Hills, working right along with the residents of the Los Angeles area.
Many celebrities have called Cheviot Hills home. The area was also long favored by couples whose children were grown. In recent years, though, younger couples have begun to add to the population, bringing children and renovating homes. We were there to help them. As new technologies have emerged, such as earthquake valves, copper piping, gas line leak detectors, and tankless water heaters, we have expanded our expertise and coverage area.
