Since 1946, we have catered to the needs of clients in Hermosa Beach. Hermosa Beach was the perfect location for an enterprising Ernest I. Newton who founded Newton Plumbing as the soldiers were returning from World War II. He used the resources of the G.I. Bill to start an important service to the community that was growing on beach in Los Angeles county, California.
The scenic Pacific Coast Highway runs through the town that has settled on a strip of land where soft, warm breezes blow off the ocean. The temperature is mild, drawing swimmers, sunbathers and those who wish more active sports activities such as surfing the waves or paddleboarding.
At one time, the rolling hills were covered in barley and woolly sheep grazed the rich land. Eventually a wooden pier was build on the water, drawing people and business as did the Santa Fe Railroad, constructed only seven blocks from the beach. In 1906, Hermosa Beach became an incorporated city. So a city was born, growing up on rich land and fronted by the many moods of the ocean.
We have kept pace with the city. Ernie believed in going the “extra mile” and working hard for his customers who trusted and respected him. He raised his family among the attractions of the city.
Family member can watch both professional and amateur beach volleyball played on the flat beach area. They enjoy the beach and water sports. Those who work with us can walk or jog the Hermosa Valley Greenbelt, part of the Federal Rails to Trails network. The Greenbelt strip, once a railway easement, offers a taste of country with a variety of plant and animal species as well as birds and butterflies that inhabit the scenic landscape. The Greenbelt is only one of the many beautiful parks in Hermosa Beach.
Hermosa Beach caters to the entire family with parks geared for baseball, basketball, roller hockey, skateboarding, tennis and more.
Visitors mingle with residents at the annual Arts and Crafts Festival, picking up succulent things to eat at the Farmer’s Market or cheering on contestants at the Hermosa Ironman competition. For culture, they relax and enjoy Shakespeare by the Sea.
Our family has grown with the city, the business expanding to the surrounding area with a commitment to excellence of service. We continue to be a positive addition to this forward-looking city.
