One of the latest techniques is called trenchless technology and it greatly reduces the cost of installation and surface disruption caused by the process. There are a number of methods that may be employed to install or rehabilitate underground pipe for private homes, commercial concerns or multi-unit landlords. What this means for customers is that we will not need to dig a long ugly trench that destroys lawns, gardens, driveways and other surface areas that may be involved.
This method essentially inserts the new pipe through the old pipe, and is accomplished by digging one small hole. A compact and powerful pulling machine is installed at the destination, usually within a building, and pulls the pipe from the trench through the old pipe system. The system is very useful for home and business owners who want as little disruption during the installation as possible.
[Accurate Estimates are Made Before Work Begins]
In all cases, we will complete an onsite examination to determine exactly what needs to be done to fix the problem: whether underground piping is required, copper re-pipes for home interiors is indicated, septic line service is warranted or any other plumbing service is needed. We will provide an accurate estimate of costs and time needed to complete the procedure. We will secure any necessary working permits and perform the job efficiently.
[Protection and Other Services]
Pipe protection can provide trouble-free service with new pipes for many years. OSHA regulations require that steam and hot water pipes be covered. Cover pipe provides insulation to keep hot water hot and cold water cold. It prevents pipes from sweating and can reduce plumbing noises in the home. Energy and money will be saved when protection is utilized, making a greener solution available for any plumbing needs.
In some cases, pipes can be repaired with a process called pipe shield. This technological breakthrough employs compressed air to insert an epoxy coating on the inside of small diameter pipes. This is an effective method for rehabilitating interior pipes without causing major construction damage to access pipes throughout the home. The resin epoxy creates an impermeable barrier between the water and old corroded pipe and is perfectly safe for hot or cold-water interior applications.
The coating has a smooth glossy finish and is highly water-resistant. It is free of pinholes and will not blister. If rusty pipes have ever discolored the water in any home fixture, this will eliminate the problem effectively without major construction challenges. Trained service technicians apply the epoxy solution with high-tech equipment.
[Indications That Pipe Replacement May Be Needed]
There are a number of indications that pipes may require some kind of maintenance. The first is obviously leaking pipes in the home. There are many other symptoms home and business owners should note that include the following.
· Corroded pipes sometimes cause a burst of discolored water when water is first turned on after being unused for a period of time. This is a great indication that some pipes in the system need replacing.
· Water leaks anywhere in the system can be expensive. To test for leaks, turn off all water use in the house and check the water meter. If it continues to run, then a water leak is present somewhere.
