Pacific Palisades is a district within LA which is a very affluent neighborhood. Pacific Palisades has around 27 thousand residents and is primarily a residential area. The area comprises of condominiums, apartments, small houses and luxury private homes. At the Palisades High School a fireworks display as well as a parade down Sunset Blvd sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce which hosts a full days events on the 4th of July and includes 5 and 10K runs.

In 1922 the land was bought out by the Southern California Methodist Episcopal Church with the intent to form a religious intellectual community.
Religious sects bought up lots and while construction was in process they lived in tents. A hundred homes had been built by 1925 and many streets were named after Methodist Missionaries. Eventually tents replaced by cabins, and cabins replaced by bungalows and today are replaced by luxury multimillion dollar homes.
Pacific Palisades also become shelter to many actors and writers such as Vicki Baum, Emil Ludwig between the 1930’s and 1940’s from Nazi Germany. There was also a ban on drinking alcohol for many decades and the only liquor licenses held were by the House of Lee and a local Chinese restaurant.
